Antietam and Beyond. This popular ride starts up again, with a gentle leader who cares more about the history than going at a fast pace. This scenic ride, with a few hills and many flat stretches goes through the Antietam valley, crosses many early nineteenth-century stone bridges; and both the long and shorter rides tour Antietam Battlefield.  In case this ride is rained out, we shall attempt to go on Sunday October 17.  Call ride leaders to confirm should the weather be uncertain.  [Directions: I-270 north to Frederick; bear right onto I-70 west to Hagerstown. Exit at Rt. 65 south (Sharpsburg Pike), turn right at H.K. Douglas Drive (between Wendy's and Cracker Barrel--also note sign to MVA and State Police), turn right into Park & Ride.]
