Happy Trails, BWI Airport to Severna Park. From Odenton, we will find the
bike trail around BWI Airport, then through Glen Burnie on WB&A trail.
There are 16 continuous miles of paved trail, many stops and cross
traffic. Bring snack for stop at mile 16 overlook. There is one
designated rest, although there are many places to buy food along
BW&A. Although most of ride is fairly flat, there is one long steep
climb in the last 10 miles. Some roads are slightly bumpy and trafficky.
After ride lunch at China Wang. Arrive early for coffee at Wall Street
Deli. Restroom available. [Directions: From Beltway 495 take I-295 (BW
Parkway) North, Right on 198, then take 32 East to Odenton. Right on 175,
Right on 170 (Piney Orchard Parkway.) Go 1.6 miles, SC on left. Alternate
directions: from US 50 East, left on 424 (Davidsonville Rd.) Becomes
Conway. Right on Patauxent, becomes Piney Orchard Parkway. SC is on
right.]

Escape From Port Tobacco. Starting only 15 mi. outside the Beltway
we roll thru this historic port town ISO: a courthouse museum; a scenic
view of the Potomac and Port Tobacco Rivers at Chapel Pt.; the Thomas Stone NHS;
crossing over John Wilkes Booth’s escape route; up favorites Bumpy Oak and
Rose Hill on the way back home. Longer ride gets more climbing. [Directions:
From Beltway Exit 3-A take Md 210 (Indian Head Highway) south for 15 miles to
town of Bryans Road. Turn right onto Md 227 (Marshall Hall Rd.) and left into

Howard county rides. Expect some traffic around Columbia. No go if
raining.

Reverse Laytonsville Loop: Cycle on one of the most scenic loops as
we wind our way from Montgomery, through Howard, & into Carroll counties
& back. Almost as hilly as it is scenic! The ride leader will
ride at a leisurely pace from the rear & leave no one behind. One rest
stop, approximately half way, at a truck stop convenience store. No go in
