CC(H) * 46 * MD * 10 AM * Sherwood Elementary School (SES) * 40°/40%
Horsy Hills: Cycle through Howard County’s beautiful horse country on scenic, low traffic rural roads. The name of the ride says it all, as we’re sure to see plenty of hills and horses! One rest stop 17 miles into the ride. No go in any precipitation, wet roads or strong winds. Will leave cue sheets on the hood of my car for any latecomers, just please sign in. Please come join me on one of my favorite rides! Added attraction: See the “Great Bunny Statue” (no kidding, bring a carrot). Joel Milano [JoelMilano@comcast.net] H: 301/879-7660.

ALL * 25 * DC * 9 AM *Pierce Mill
Beach to Creek Is Back!  A nice in-town ride with an emphasis on natural scenery. We’ll ride up Beach Drive, through some nice neighborhoods with some long hills, and down Sligo Creek Parkway. This ride invites ALL pace levels, in the hope that everyone will find someone to ride with. The ride leader’s pace is C or CC; cue sheets, maps, and a growing cadre of regulars will help those who are faster or slower. There will be no sweep. We’ll stop at the Takoma Park Co-Op for a quick bite.
Barbara McCann 202/234-2059.

July 17 Sunday

More Than Half a Century.
Not quite a metric, but almost. Come join me on my first ride as leader this year in one of my favorite areas of MD!  We mainly stay in the valley, so there aren't too many major hills.  Call if weather is doubtful.
Pat Persson 301/675-9343.

CC * 42 * 9:00 AM * Laytonsville SC (LAV)
Two Counties, No Hipsley Mill.  Enjoy a scenic ride through Montgomery and Howard counties without the Hipsley Mill Rd hill. This ride has a few roads which have not been used this season. There is one rest stop on the ride. I will not ride in the rain so call if the weather is doubtful.
Alison Andrews 301/208-0515.

July 24 Sunday

CC/B * 64* MD * 8:30 AM * Parking Lot, East Side of Kent Narrows
Kent Island Ride.  Why? Because Ocean City is too darn far to drive and too dang crowded! A joint ride with the Bs. When you are done, you will be able to say, without a doubt, that you have seen Kent Island. See beautiful Chesapeake Bay. See the bridge you can't ride your bike upon. See the homes you and seven of your friends could own if you did not spend all your money on cycling! It will be hot but to get a flatter ride, you would need a velodrome. Bring snacks as some parts of the island do not have stores. Lunch afterward by consensus. No go in rain. [Directions to ride start: Take US 50 East over the Bay Bridge. Take Exit 42 to a right on MD 18. Take a right on Kent Narrows Way. (If you go over a bridge, you have gone too far.) Entrance to parking lot is on left just under US 50.] Note: Bicycles are not allowed on the Bay Bridge and the bridge is a toll bridge ($2.50 going East. No toll going home)
CC Leader--Debbie Reynolds [deb_cla@hotmail.com] 301/346-1755,  B Leader--Bob Bernstein {[robert.bernstein@baesystems.com] (Note: E-mail only good until Friday at 3PM)} 240/593-2539.
