January 15 Saturday

CC (F) * 25 * 10:00 (?) AM  * Veirs Mill Park RC (VMP) * 50%
FLAT AND COLD. If the temperature is below 40 degrees at the ride start time, then the ride leader will show up at 1:00 pm for the ride. You might also want to monitor PPTC Listserv, since I may try to send a note if the ride might be go at 1:00 pm or be canceled due to weather.  This is a simple ride that should not challenge too many people. It is basically a ride down to Pierce Mill and back. Except for a short distance from the Mormon Temple to East-West Highway, the entire ride will be on Beach Drive (except for an optional hill after leaving Pierce Mill, for those that cannot get enough of that kind of thing). Possible lunch after the ride at a restaurant nearby.

January 16 Sunday

CC/C * 40/30 * MD * 11 AM * Sherwood ES (SES) * 38°
A Winter Wide. All rides from SES are somewhat hilly but we'll keep it real for the season. The route should be online at http://goldray.com/bikerides. If the weather is warm, in the 50's, we'll do the longer route with a rest stop; if not we'll have the shorter route but probably with no stop. In any case, we recklessly invite one and all to our nearby house after the ride so bring hot tub garb for an indescribably delightful dip w/hot chocolate served. If temperature is near 38 call - sunny w/o wind we might go ... windy w/o sun maybe not. Cell for day of ride: 202/997-2378.
