Sunday 5 December

CC * 25 or 36 or ? * MD * 10:30 AM * Gwynn Park High School (45 degrees)
Patuxent Legacy. A joint ride with Oxon Hill Bicycle Club.  Starting just off Brandywine and Rt 5, this ride visits Merkle Sanctuary and the Patuxent Rural Legacy area. Distance will depend on emperature; I'll have cue sheets for a 25, a 36, and possibly even a longer route, should early December be unexpectedly balmy. This is a very scenic
area. Photos taken when I led this ride in February can be found on Oxon Hill's web site: http://imageevent.com/ohbike/stevespatuxentlegacyride.  There are a couple of stores in the area, but this ride probably won't stop at any of them, so plan accordingly.  [Directions to Gwynn Park High School - From I-95 take Exit 7-A (Md 5 south) and go 8.8 miles to Brandywine Rd. (Md 381). Turn left and go 0.3 mile to Brandywine entrance to the school. Follow the entrance to the left to the parking lot along Brandywine Road.]

Saturday 11 December

CC * 32 * MD * 10 AM * Laytons Village SC (LAV)
Laytonsville Loop #6. Nothing too painful, but enough to help work off those extra slices of pumpkin pie.

Sunday 12 December

C/CC * 19 * MD * 10:30 AM * Arnold, MD
Broadneck Peninsula. View the Naval Academy from across the Severn on this scenic loop with mix of flat and rolling stretches along College Parkway, the B&A Trail and St. Margaret's Road in Anne Arundel County. Yes, there are some hills near the Bay!  Meet at City Dock Coffee in the Bay Hills Shopping Center at intersection of Bay Dale Drive (exit 28 off Rt. 50) and College Parkway. Join a post-ride gathering at the leaders' home nearby for refreshments. Plenty of time to visit historic Annapolis to shop or sightsee on the way home. NO GO if snow or ice on roads.

Sunday 26 December

C/CC(H) * 35/45 * MD * 10:30 AM * Glenwood Middle School (GLW) * 38-40 degrees
Glenwood Gambol. Enjoy the scenic, low traffic roads of Howard County. 35 and 45 mile options (55 too if weather seems excellent) will be available. If precipitation is possible call us. Ride is typical Howard County hilly, nothing startling. Call if close to my temperature constraint. If sunny and no wind we'll go at lower temps. If no sun and lots of wind .... errr, maybe not.

Friday 31 December

CC * 35(F) * MD * 11 AM * Montpelier Elementary School * 32° DRY
Ag Center Excursion!  We'll go down to the low traffic roads of the Agricultural Center, possibly out to Bowie and then back for a nice mostly flat loop on familiar roads. The ride start is Montpelier Elementary School, 9200 Muirkirk Road, Laurel, MD 20708. From the B-W Parkway, take MD 197 north. Take a left onto Muirkirk Rd. School is on your right.  Anyone that wants, can come back to my house in Historic Laurel for soup after the ride (not too far from the ride start). Please RSVP to me if you wish to join me for soup by Dec. 30, 6 PM. Directions to my house will be on the cue sheet.
