Spring Pottery Ride. A fine, scenic, Howard County jaunt to revive an early 90's custom. Our rest stop at the Greenbridge Pottery will feature fine, live music, great food and interesting pottery and art exhibits. All Sides of Sugarloaf. Borrowed from Chuck and Gail (thanks). Let's welcome spring with the traditional ride around Sugarloaf. Early in your season, legs not up to it? Take the shortcut. Beach to Creek. A nice in-town ride with an emphasis on natural scenery. We’ll ride up Beach Drive, through some nice neighborhoods with some long hills, and down Sligo Creek Parkway. This ride invites ALL pace levels, in the hope that everyone will find someone to ride with. The ride leader’s pace is C or CC; cue sheets, maps, and a growing cadre of regulars will help those who are faster or slower. There will be no sweep. We’ll stop at the Takoma Park Co-Op for a quick bite. [Meet in Rock Creek Park at the corner of Park Road/Tilden & Rock Creek Parkway; at the north parking lot.]  Barbara McCann (202) 234-2059.

Another “AA” Ride. Scenic and shady ride in AA (Anne Arundel) County. Some hills (4-5) and a great view of the Chesapeake on the longer distance. Tour Du Indian Head
.  Very pleasant ride just 15 mi. outside DC Beltway! We tour thru some woods (Piscataway Park & Chapman’s Landing) with a few hills (extra on 36miler) on our way thru sleepy Indian Head.  Favorites include Bumpy Oak Rd and Mattawoman Creek (with option to historic Marshall Hall). [Directions: From Beltway(I-95) take exit 3-A/Rt.210 (Indian Head Hwy) south for 15 miles. Turn right onto Md 227 (Marshall Hall Rd.) and left into shopping center. Two Counties.  Enjoy a nice and familiar ride through rolling terrain in Montgomery and Howard Counties. This is the first ride of the season for me so I will be toward the back. There is one rest stop where food and beverages can be purchased. I will not ride in the rain or any other extreme weather conditions. Call on the day of the ride if the weather looks doubtful. Pedaling to Pisgah.  Ride down Bumpy Oak Road and Rose Hill on the way to the Pisgah General Store.
