Moon-Jhong
Rhee was born in Korea.
He received the B. S. and M. S. degrees in Physics from the Seoul
National University in 1958 and 1960, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree
in Space Science and Applied Physics from The
Catholic University of America in 1970.
He is a Professor Emeritus of the Department of
Electrical and Computer Engineering,
University of Maryland at College
Park, College Park, Maryland and
has been with the Department since 1970.
He was a Visiting Professor at the Seoul
National University, Korea in 1977-1978, a Visiting Professor at
the University of Rosario, Argentina
in 1985, and a Visiting Professor at the University of Pohang Science and Technology, Korea in 2000-2001.
His research
interests include charged particle beams, beam qualities, pulsed power
systems, and pseudospark discharge.
He married Hwa-Ja Kay
on March 27, 1966 and has four children, Jinny,
Ranne, Mea, and Won, and a son-in-law, Chirs Lilios.
He loves playing golf and skiing.
